The Priyadarshini Pench National Park is named after the river pench which runs through the park from north to the south also known as the Pench Tiger Reserve. It spreads over the southern districts of Madhya Pardesh bordering Maharashtra in the districts of Seoni and chindwada. It covers an area of 758 sq.kms nurturing extensive fauna, core area runs into 257.26 sq.kms.
The Park is a fine habitat for the wild cat i.e. the tiger also found are hte leopards, wild dogs, Sloth beer, chinkara, Neelgai & Sambars to name a Few.
The fauna In this forest - represents the tropical decidious forest - housing a variety of birds & spiders the fauna includes Ain, Haldu, Tandu, Hirda, etc.
The Pench Tiger Reserve and its neighbourhood or indeed the original setting of the famous Jungle book written by Rudyard kipling.
